A man who plants a tree is doing a very wonderful thing. He is setting in motion an organism which may far outlive him or his children, and year by year that tree is storing up energy and power, working with precision like a factory, but far superior to any factory of man.

 FAQs

  • Gift Aid is a UK government tax-relief scheme that allows charities like us to claim back 25% of tax on donations made by UK taxpayers.

This means that for every £1 you give to plant trees today, we’ll receive £1.25. That’s an extra 25p that can help plant and nurture trees where the need is greatest.

And once you’re signed up, Gift Aid will apply to all donations you’ve made to us in the last 4 years and any donations you choose to give in the future.

  • It only takes a few minutes to sign up for Gift Aid.

Simply fill in this Declaration Form or give us a call today to make your generous gifts go even further for people and our precious planet.

  • Once you’ve filled in the Declaration Form, there’s no extra paperwork for you to do. We’ll automatically claim back the tax on every donation you make to us.

  • To qualify for Gift Aid, you need to be a UK taxpayer. To find more information on Gift Aid please see this detailed guidance provided by HM Revenue and Customs.

If you been generously fundraising for us, and have raised donations from family and friends, then unfortunately this does not qualify for Gift Aid.

  • If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, you can claim back the difference between the tax you’ve already paid on your donation and what International Tree Foundation receives when you fill in your Self-Assessment tax return.

  • What’s great about Gift Aid is that you can support as many charities as you like. All you need to do is fill in and return your Declaration Form to each charity that you support.
