The Community Tree Planting Initiative, a Ugandan ITF project, is continuing to develop well according to a recent annual report.
The Earth Summit is currently underway in Brazil (20th – 22nd, June 2012). The conference is also referred to as Rio +20 to mark the 20 year anniversary of the original Earth Summit held in the city in 1992.
Today marks the World Day to Combat Desertification (WDCD). The 2012 Global Observance event will be held at the Rio Conventions Pavilion, Brazil, and is entitled ‘Securing Healthy Soils and Stopping Land Degradation: Outcomes for Rio+20’. The event aims to raise awareness of the issue of land degradation and the implications it is having on the future of our planet.
ITF are delighted to be able to share our second quarterly impact report which contains progress updates for 4 of our projects which are all developing very well.
ITF have recently received a final project report from our in-country partner SUNARMA and we are very pleased to report that the Forest Conservation Project in the Wof Washa Forest, Ethiopia has been a great success.
ITF have received a very encouraging mid-term report from the Mt. Bamboutos Montane Forest reforestation project which confirms the scheme is making excellent progress.
