ITF’s 90th Anniversary Appeal to plant one million trees received a significant boost recently through the kind donation of Mr John Allen. John was a leading British Government scientist during the 1970-80s and a negotiator at the Geneva Convention to establish a framework to reduce air pollution and control acid rain. John explains why he donated to the appeal
“I am pleased to support the ITF’s campaign believing that ordinary people can make a difference. In 2010 I planted a 15cm seedling in Australia as part of a restoration programme and was astonished to find on a recent visit that it has now grown into a tree of 4 metres height in the intervening time.
Losses of carbon to the atmosphere from agricultural and forestry malpractices are largely underestimated and simple practicable measures are necessary to help restore the balance.”
Could you join with John in donating to the 90th Anniversary Appeal? For just £10 we will plant 100 trees. To donate please click here
