Run for the Trees at the Brighton Marathon

October 17, 2016News & EventsBy Naomi Hope

Calling all runners! If you’re up for a challenge and want to contribute to our work in the UK and Africa, why not run the Brighton Marathon next spring?

International Tree Foundation have charity places for this beautiful seaside race taking place on Sunday 9th April 2017. We’re offering discounted places at £50, and in exchange we ask you to pledge to raise £500 through sponsorship. Don’t worry, we’ll be on hand to put the fun into fundraising! You’ll receive a Supporters’ pack full of creative ways to raise the money when you sign up.

The money you raise will contribute to our 20 Million Trees for Kenya’s Forest Campaign, which aims to reforest the counSophie-Hannah-Brighton-marathontry’s five main ‘Water Towers’, the forests that are vital in providing water for Kenya’s lakes, rivers and drinking water. £500 could plant 2000 trees on the slopes of Mount Kenya or on a local farmer’s land.

We’ll also be on hand to take photos and cheer you on in April!

Up for the challenge? Get in touch today to secure your place!

Still not sure it’s for you? Read about what last year’s runners said after completing the marathon here.
