The Aim
New ITF partner, Friends of Environment for Development (FED) in Northern Lira, Uganda have joined our growing list of Ugandan based projects. Focusing on Abwong 'B'Village, Adyaka Parish, Agali Subcounty, Erute South County, Lira, the project has the overall aim of planting 500,000 seedlings for distribution amongst the local communities in order to create employment, improve household income and address local deforestation.
The Project is on course with over 100000 tree seedlings distributed to 500 households, 25 community churches and 5 schools
The Approach
The main activities will include:
- establishment of community tree nurseries
- community moblisation & sensitisation.
- training of Project Agents.
- seedling Distribution & Planting.
- monitoring and evlauation
