Improvement of livelihoods of Rural People, Likoma Island, Northern Lake, Malawi

This project aims to benefit the local communities, comprising 10,000 people in Makungwa, Madimba, Mainja and Chinyanya villages. Creation of alternative fuel wood and building material supply for the local communities to relieve pressure on remaining 70 ha of indigenous woodland on the Island.  Training in tree propagation, planting and it’s benefits for livelihoods and better conservation of the indigenous forest area of Makungwa Village Forest.

Am malawia living in Tanzania
I am very glad to hear that there are people are thinking to improve livelihoods of the rula people.here in Tanzania am working in the same sector,am working as field monitor in community development and envilomental conservation.my aim now is to come and work in my home country.I have work in this sector for aimost one year and three month in fifiteen villages.I will be happy if i can join you there.Thanks God bless you all
