PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR GRANTS APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE CURRENT FINANCIAL YEAR (OCTOBER – SEPTEMBER) IS NOW COMPLETE. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY FURTHER APPLICATIONS UNTIL LATER IN 2010. THE DEADLINES FOR THE NEXT ROUNDS OF FUNDING WILL BE PUBLISHED HERE IN SEPTEMBER 2010.
This page provides important information about eligibility for international funding. Please read this information carefully and apply only if you meet the current criteria.
Our geographical priority areas change periodically, please look at the listing below and decide whether your project is eligible to apply:
• The African Sahel or Saharan Africa. This includes the following areas: Mali, Mauritania, Northern Ethiopia, Sudan, Northern Ghana, Northern Togo, Benin, Niger, Burkino Faso, Eritrea, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria
If your project qualifies geographically, please review the questions listed below. If you can answer yes to all of these, please proceed with your application. If not, we are unable to consider your application at this time, please keep an eye on our website for details of our priorities for next year.
• If your project involves tree planting, do you have a readily available source of water?
• Are the intended beneficiaries of the project participants in it?
• Do you have a clear budget?
• Can you provide written feedback reports in English?
• Does your project address at least one of the themes below?
Poverty alleviation: enhanced livelihoods through sustainable use of forests and forest products.
Biodiversity conservation: protection and restoration of trees and forests particularly where they form a critical feature of a threatened ecosystem.
Environmental justice: empowerment and education of communities with emphasis on the young, vulnerable and marginalised.
