Our Work Around the World

The International Tree Foundation has a long history of sustainable community forestry work. In the last ten years, we have developed a network of partnerships across Africa and other parts of the world, based on poverty alleviation through tree related income generation. We combine this with awareness raising work about the value of forests and their role in the cycle of poverty.

Our projects are demand driven, and we are increasingly seeing that our work can be used to help the most vulnerable community members, not only in providing income and food but in helping to promote community cohesion and to help lessen the effects of some cultural practices, particularly in regard to gender issues.
