Warm Greetings from the International Tree Foundation {Malta}
On Friday 16 January, the International Tree Foundation [Malta Branch] together with the local Council of Mdina commemorated National Arbor Day by planting, a number of tees donated to the community by the said society in Howard Gardens. These trees which include Aleppo pines, and other specimen trees were planted as replacements to others which died through various causes.
Representative students from St. Dorothy Girls School took part in this commemorative tree-planting activity presided by the Hon Dr. Chris. Said Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information and the Mdina Mayor Mr.Peter Joseph dei Conti Sant Manduca. The school children staged a play and recited poems in support of the Tree. The public, including the Mdina community, was invited to attend and those present were given the opportunity to sign the Society’s Golden Book of Trees.
