The Family Tree Scheme woodland being created is a 13 hectare site next to the cemetery in Harelaw, just off the B6168 which runs through the village. It is being created partly on reclaimed land from an old colliery and partly on former grazing land.

Millennium Wood, Outwood, Radcliffe, Bury – in the Red Rose Forest

The Millennium Wood is a landmark countryside project which will create a new woodland on 35 hectares of land within the Outwood Community Parkland at Outwood near to Radcliffe. 

The Red Rose Forest

Red Rose Forest is the second largest and probably the most diverse of the 12 Community Forests in England. It covers 292 square miles and takes in the districts of Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Bury, Trafford and Wigan.

The Mersey Forest

The Mersey Forest is the largest of all the Community Forests in England, covering over 465 sq miles of Merseyside and North Cheshire. Already, over 12 million trees have been planted and many other habitats created and restored.

Parkwood Springs, Burngreave, Sheffield

Burngreave is located just north of Sheffield City Centre (centred on OS grid ref SK360895). It’s a disadvantaged inner city area with higher unemployment and health problems than the average. However, it does have particularly rich cultural diversity.

Kelham Hall, Kelham, Newark

The present Hall was completed in 1850 after a severe fire which destroyed most of the original Manners – Sutton family seat. The architect was Gilbert Scott. The Hall was sold to the society of the Sacred Mission in 1903 and housed the Monastic order for the next 70 years. During the 1920s the Dome was constructed.

Brierley Forest Park, Greenwood, Nottinghamshire’s Community Forest

Brierley Forest Park is Ashfields largest addition to Greenwood, Nottinghamshires Community Forest. Altogether it covers some 250 acres and is a flagship site for the Greenwood.

Homeopathy Wood

Creating new woodland for recreation, learning and environment
The International Tree Foundation and the Homeopathy Action Trust are working together with Northamptonshire County Council to create a new woodland. The Homeopathy Wood at Sywell Country Park in Northamptonshire is almost two years old and now has 850 trees planted in it!. All the trees have been individually sponsored with species such as oak, beech, yew, hawthorn, hornbeam – all used in homeopathy. The Country Park is open to the public and has a large visitor’s centre.
