Chasewater Country Park, Forest of Mercia
Chasewater Country Park in the Forest of Mercia
The Forest of Mercia is a Community Forest which includes a large part of Walsall. It is being created by a partnership between Government, Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council and, most importantly, YOU – the local community. Community Forests are large areas on the edges of towns and cities which are being planted with trees. By planting a patchwork of woodlands and hedgerows, encouraging wildlife and improving public rights of way, the Forest of Mercia will provide opportunities for work, recreation and education. The planting site is in Chasewater Country Park close to the Visitor Centre and a new area will be created further into the Park. Your donation to the Family Tree Scheme will help to create an important part of the Forest of Mercia. The trees planted will be in groups of four per dedication, with the long term objective that they will be thinned with one of the four reaching maturity.
The Dedication Book is at the Visitor Centre, on the front desk.
